Cleaning of Hats
1. If there are decorations on the hat, remove them first.
2. For cleaning the hat, it is advisable to first soak it in clean water mixed with neutral detergent for a while.
3. Use a soft brush to gently scrub.
4. The inner part of the sweat band (the part in contact with the headband) should be scrubbed several times to thoroughly remove sweat stains and bacteria. Of course, if you choose a material with antibacterial and deodorizing properties, this step can be omitted.
5. Fold the hat into four sections, gently shake off the water, and do not use a washing machine for dehydration.
6. Spread the hat out, stuff an old towel inside, and lay it flat to dry. Avoid hanging it to dry.
Special Hat Washing
1. Leather hats can be cleaned by rubbing them with sliced onions or by using a cloth dipped in gasoline to wipe the fur. This can achieve a good cleaning effect.
2. For stains on fine felt hats, use an ammonia solution mixed with an equal amount of alcohol for cleaning. First, dip a piece of silk cloth in this mixture, and then clean. Do not make the hat too wet, otherwise it may deform.
3. For knitted hats, it is best to stuff wrinkle-filled paper and cloth balls into the hat after washing, and then dry it in the shade.
4. For wool hats, do not wash them with water. Because wool will shrink. If the hat gets dust or pet hair debris, you can use a wide adhesive tape, fold it back, and stick it onto your finger to remove the surface dust. Wool hats do not need to be washed every time. Instead, they tend to shorten their lifespan. If it is necessary to clean them, the most appropriate method is dry cleaning.
